  • 43% of population use adequate sanitation facilities (2004)
  • 7% of children under five are sleeping under a mosquito net (2005)

HIV/AIDS

  • 110,000 children (0-14 years) are living with HIV (2005)
  • 40% of male and 28% of female youths have comprehensive knowledge of HIV respectively (2005)

Education

  • 64% of primary school entrants reach grade 5 (2004)
  • 18% of male and 14% of female students are enrolled in secondary school respectively (2005)

Child Protection

  • 37% of children (5-14 years) are forced into child labour (2005)
